Achille Superbi / Italy

Achille Superbi was born on 13th September 1959 in Bondeno, Italy. He graduated and obtained his diploma at the1st Art School in Turin (1°Liceo artistico di Torino) in 1977. Then he worked few years for various advertising agencies. Since 1982, Achille Superbi has been working at the RAI – Radio Televisione Italiana, the Italian broadcasting service, Production Centre of Turin, where he subsequently became the Coordinator of the Graphic Design. In 1984 he began working for newspapers, magazines and publishing houses – for many years he regularly worked as caricaturist for the weelky TV sport programmme “Il processo del lunedì” and published hundreds illustrations for advertising campaigns, Italian and international books and magazines such as Sport Master, Autosprint, I Padroni del pallone, Ulisse 2000, Hurrà Juventus, Witty World Cartoon Magazine, Guerin Sportivo, Figurine Panini, The Finest International Political Cartoon of our Time, L’Almanacco di Frate Indovino, Panorama Economy, Monthly Vision, etc. Every year Achille Superbi takes part at various national and international exhibitions where he was awarded many prizes (we can mention at least some of them: 1st Prize “La lumaca che sorride” at “Eurohumor”, Italy; „Palma d’Oro” at the “45° Salone Internazionale dell’ Umorismo” in Bordighera, Italy; 1st Prize “Lutin d’Or” at the “Festival International de la Caricature de St. Esteve”, France; 1st Prize “Humor & vigne” in Jonzac, France; 1st Prize at the “FECO Argentina International Cartoon Contest” in Buenos Aires; 1st Prize at the “VII Certamen International of Santa Cruz” in Tenerife, Spain; 1st Prize “Footnet Cartoon Contest” in Tehran, Iran; 1st Prize at ” IACC 2004 Cartoon & Animation Competition“ in Beijing, China; 1st Prize at the “World Press Cartoon” in Sintra, Portugal; etc). He had numerous solo exhibitions in Italy and abroad. Achille Superbi is living and working in Turin, Italy.
