Nicoletta Ceccoli / San Marino

Nicoletta Ceccoli was born in 1973 in the Republic of San Marino. She graduated from the State Institute of Art in Urbino (Italy), in the section of animation. She is working as illustrator of children’s books since 1995. She illustrated numerous books with USA, UK, Italian, Swiss and Taiwanese publishers, among others: Random house, Simon and Shuster, Houghton Mifflin, Mondadori, Grimm press, Fabbri, Arka, Fatatrac, St. Paul, etc. Her books have been translated in France, Korea, Mexico, Spain and the United States. In 2001 she get, in Italy, the Andersen Prize “Baia delle favole” as the best illustrator of the year. In 2002 her illustrations for Pinocchio published by Mondadori have received “Award of Excellence” from Communication Arts (USA). Nicoletta Ceccoli won Award of Excellence, Communication Art, CA, also in 2004, 2006, 2007, 2008, 2011. In 2006 she has been awarded Silver medal from the Society of Illustrators of New York. Bologna’s Children’s book’s fair show in 1995, 2000, 2001, 2003, 2004, 2005, 2007. She had solo exhibitions in Roq la Rue Gallery in Seattle, USA; in Magic Pony Gallery in Toronto, Canada; in Richard Goodall Gallery in Manchester, UK. In 2008 she worked as character designer for a 3d French animation project “La mecanique du couer” with the direction of Mathias Melzieau and the production of Luc and Silla Besson. Nicoletta Ceccoli has shown her artworks in prestigious collections throughout the world. She has participated at numerous group exhibitions in Italy and abroad (the USA, Canada, UK, Japan, Slovakia, etc). For the Republic of San Marino, she has developed three series of stamps dedicated to the rights of children, Christmas and the circus. The series dedicated to Christmas has been awarded the Golden Horse Bolaffi, author of the best original sketch in 2001. Nicolletta Ceccoli is still living and working in her native Republic of San Marino.
