NEW YEAR AND CHRISTMAS GREETINGS

Dear Friends,
The year 2025 rolled through the world like a restless ball – sometimes shiny, sometimes jagged. Politics once again showed itself in all its grotesqueness: the great powers flexed their muscles, small countries tested their patience, and ordinary people tested their nerves. Society was torn between the desire for peace and a reality that constantly presented it with new challenges. And yet, even in this chaos, there were moments when humanity shone brighter than the spotlights on the world stage.
Art, as always, did not stand aside. It was a mirror and a magnifying glass, a consolation and an exclamation mark. Caricature – that eternal rebel with a pencil behind its ear – once again showed that it can reveal in a single stroke what entire speeches hide. In many countries, however, cartoonists pay a high price for this courage: censorship, persecution, even imprisonment. And yet they continue to draw. Because humor is sometimes the last freedom that cannot be banned.
This exhibition of Christmas and New Year’s greetings is a small celebration of their perseverance. Each greeting is a spark – sometimes playful, sometimes ironic, sometimes gently melancholic. Together, they create a mosaic that reminds us that even though the world sometimes seems like an unfinished cartoon, it is still worth adding color to it.
We enter the new year with the hope that the lines will be softer, the shadows shorter, and the smiles more sincere. That creators will be able to create freely and viewers will be able to laugh without fear. And that the pencil – the quietest tool of resistance – will continue to draw a world where humor has a place and truth has a shape.
We wish all artists courage, imagination, and joy in their work. And we wish visitors to the exhibition that they find in these works what the world needs most: a spark of hope.
