.PAOLO DALPONTE
REPRESENTATIVE EXHIBITION OF EXCEPTIONAL CARTOONIST
FROM ITALY
.

Paolo Dalponte The origin and meaning of the word “Art” is probably not necessary to explain in detail – it is obvious from the very base of this word. The art (according to the Otto Encyclopaedia) we call such human activity to which are required extraordinary abilities and skills – ie which cannot be done by everybody, but just by a person extremely capable and ready, ie artist. Fine art is thus a purposeful creative work, the result of which is superior to other creations in terms of its value evident already in the actual perception, ie by its aesthetic quality. Thus, according to this definition the basic criterion of Fine Art is its aesthetic effect.
.
The artwork of Paolo Dalponte could serve very well as a direct definition of this term – from the works of this exceptional Italian artist is visible already at first glance his extraordinary ability and high mastery, which far exceeds not only the capability of majority of ordinary mortals but also the skills of many creators who just declare themselves as artists. Exceptional competence of Paolo Dalponte and his ability to create masterful works of highest quality and aesthetic effect is so obvious that it is absolutely no necessary to defend his creative work by any “expert” justifications or pseudo-intellectual theories.
.
Drawings by Paolo Dalponte are characterized by detailed, almost hyper-realistic depiction of objects of our world – but this is definitely not an end in itself – this perfect external form of his artworks adds to his metaphorically communicated messages an extraordinary impressiveness and persuasiveness. And yet for their creation he does not need any special artistic devices or materials – an “ordinary” graphite pencil in the hands of this great magician of art immediately turns into a magic wand, able to conjure up images of unusual value and beauty. His style and handwriting are unique and clearly identifiable. We can without any doubt conclude that Paolo Dalponte is extremely significant and dignified representative of a strong surrealist tradition which he still develops and enriches with his own original artistic and thought contribution.
.
We are very proud that we have such a rare opportunity to introduce you in the Cartoon Gallery an extensive collection of artworks from the highly valued and recognized creative work of this exceptional Italian artist and cartoonist.
